Our Mission
Global Thinkers Meet Up is a platform for civic engagement and peace-building. Think of it as a curated civic saloon, with some of our sessions focused particularly on the citizens of tomorrow, today's youth. Our goal is to empower and equip citizens to navigate global challenges through thoughtful dialogue, creativity, and kindness.
We believe that thoughtful dialogue is the cornerstone of a peaceful society. By creating spaces where young minds can exchange ideas across borders, we foster the empathy and critical thinking necessary to build a better future together.

Dr Karem Roitman
Director
Dr Karem Roitman is an Oxford-educated education leader, speaker and consultant with over 20 years’ experience teaching and training across countries and languages. She holds a DPhil in International Development from the University of Oxford and has taught at leading UK universities while consulting for organisations including DFID and the United Nations.She is the author of Seeking the Perfect World and the Oxford International ‘Global Skills Projects Curriculum’, a project-based learning programme used by hundreds of teachers worldwide. A passionate advocate for civic education and global justice, she founded Global Thinkers Meet Up to help people explore complex global challenges through creative, critical and ethical thinking.
Natasha Lipman
Strategy Lead
Natasha is a former BBC journalist and award-nominated podcaster, specialising in chronic illness, disability and health. Recognised as one of the most influential disabled people in the UK by the Shaw Trust Disability Power 100, she has also been named a Global Changemaker, Rhize Emerging Catalyst and Virgin Media Pioneer. Her podcast, The Rest Room, was a finalist at the British Podcast Awards and the International Women’s Podcast Awards. She previously led entrepreneurship content at Virgin Unite and co-founded Libyan Youth Voices, part of the youth journalism project IPF, alongside other international youth initiatives. Natasha has worked with several health tech start-ups and mentored young people with chronic illness. These days, she is researching her debut non-fiction book, editing The Dead Language Society on Substack, and advising on the design of medical research through PPI work. She is also an avid knitter, voracious reader and language learner.

Our meet ups are facilitated by our Team along with support visiting Oxford and Open University scholars. These distinguished experts come in to share their expertise, providing our participants with a high level of intellectual challenge and unique insights that bridge the gap between academic knowledge and real-world civic dialogue.
