GLOBAL THINKERS MEET UP

Connecting Minds, Building Peace

Terms of Service

1. About These Terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern access to and use of the Global Thinkers Meet Up website (globaltmu.com) and participation in any GTMU programme, including Youth Meet Ups, Civic Chats, and Facilitator Training (together, the "Programmes"). By registering for a Programme, using our website, or otherwise engaging with GTMU, you ("you", "participant", or, where applicable, your parent/guardian on your behalf) agree to these Terms.
Global Thinkers Meet Up is a Community Interest Company registered in England and Wales ("GTMU", "we", "us"). Our registered office is [Address]. Contact: globalTMU@gmail.com.

2. Eligibility & Enrolment
• Youth Meet Ups are open to participants aged 14–18. Where a participant is under 18, a parent or legal guardian must complete and sign GTMU's Participation Agreement & Consent Form before the participant's first session.
• Civic Chats and Facilitator Training are open to a wider audience as advertised for each session; specific age or eligibility criteria will be stated at the point of registration.
• GTMU reserves the right to decline or withdraw a place at its discretion, including where places are limited, where information provided at registration is inaccurate, or where continued participation would conflict with our Safeguarding Policy or Code of Conduct.

3. Fees, Payment & Refunds
• Programme fees are set out at the point of registration and may include Standard, Subsidised, and Scholarship (fee-free) tiers, as advertised.
• Payment is due at the time of registration unless otherwise agreed with GTMU in writing.
• Refunds: a full refund is available if a place is cancelled more than [14] days before the Programme start date. Cancellations made within [14] days of the start date, or after the Programme has begun, are refunded at GTMU's discretion, taking into account the circumstances of the request.
• If GTMU cancels or is unable to deliver a Programme, participants will be offered a full refund or a place on a future cohort, at their choice.

4. Participant Conduct
All participants, parents/guardians, facilitators, and volunteers are expected to comply with GTMU's Code of Conduct, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. GTMU may suspend or remove any participant whose conduct breaches the Code of Conduct, poses a safety risk, or is otherwise seriously disruptive, in accordance with the consequences set out in that policy.

5. Safeguarding
GTMU is committed to safeguarding the welfare of every participant, in line with our Safeguarding Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. Parents/guardians of participants under 18 are asked to read and acknowledge this policy as part of registration.

6. Media, Images & Marketing
From time to time, GTMU may wish to use photographs, video, or quotes from Programme sessions for marketing and communications purposes. This is only ever done with explicit, opt-in consent recorded via our Participation Agreement & Consent Form, and consent may be withdrawn at any time by emailing globalTMU@gmail.com. GTMU will never use content that a participant or their parent/guardian has asked us not to use, and will never knowingly use content that portrays a participant unfavourably.

7. Intellectual Property
• All GTMU programme materials, session content, branding, and website content are the property of GTMU, and may not be reproduced or distributed without prior written permission.
• Where a Programme involves a group project or output created by participants, GTMU and participants jointly retain the right to share and showcase this work for non-commercial, educational, and promotional purposes, unless otherwise agreed.
• Participants must not record, screenshot, or redistribute session content without GTMU's prior written consent.

8. Website Use
• You agree to use globaltmu.com only for lawful purposes and in a way that does not infringe the rights of, or restrict or inhibit the use and enjoyment of the site by, any third party.
• The website may contain links to third-party sites (e.g. payment processors, video-call platforms). GTMU is not responsible for the content or practices of third-party sites.

9. Data Protection & Privacy
GTMU processes personal data in accordance with UK data protection law (UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018). Details of what data we collect, why, and how it is used are set out in our Privacy Policy [link]. By registering for a Programme, you consent to GTMU processing your (or your child's) data as described there.

10. Limitation of Liability
• GTMU delivers its Programmes on a not-for-profit, largely volunteer-run basis, and takes reasonable care in doing so, but does not guarantee any particular outcome from participation.
• To the fullest extent permitted by law, GTMU's liability for any loss or damage arising from participation in a Programme or use of the website is limited to the fees paid for that Programme.
• GTMU is not liable for technical issues outside its reasonable control (e.g. internet connectivity, third-party video platform outages) that disrupt a session.

11. Termination
GTMU may suspend or terminate a participant's access to a Programme at any time for breach of these Terms, the Code of Conduct, or the Safeguarding Policy. A participant or parent/guardian may withdraw from a Programme at any time by contacting globalTMU@gmail.com; refund eligibility is governed by Section 3.

12. Changes to These Terms
GTMU may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in our Programmes, legal requirements, or operating practices. The current version will always be available at globaltmu.com. Continued use of our website or participation in a Programme after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

13. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your participation in a GTMU Programme will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
